I am still in the process of polishing up some posts and images from earlier this year, and have been slipping in a few that are backdated to when they were meant to be posted per day until I catch up. Continue reading “Ongoing catch up with recent posts in 2021”

Online lecture: Managing an Urban Landscape for Biodiversity
One of the native plant organizations here in Massachusetts is Grow Native Massachusetts. I can’t remember offhand if I’ve mentioned them before or not. They offer public lectures on various topics relating to native plants and gardening. Continue reading “Online lecture: Managing an Urban Landscape for Biodiversity”
Spotted this garden related trivia on wiki
Did you know…that botanist Rosemary Margaret Smith had both an entire genus and a separate species named after her for her major discoveries and classification of ginger?” Continue reading “Spotted this garden related trivia on wiki”
So I started a local gardening group…

The Tree of Liberty
“The mere fact of the variability of the seasons should be sufficient to convince the most doubting that what may be right one year may be wrong next. If a calendar of garden events is kept it will be readily seen by reference what a difference there can be in annual happenings.”
