I knew one of the nine chrysalides in the “eclosurie”1 would likely open this morning as the chrysalis was a shade of transparent I’ve come to know fairly well.
The question–as always–was…when? Continue reading “We are both so tired.”
Things go awry sometimes that maybe you could have prevented, but not always.
I knew one of the nine chrysalides in the “eclosurie”1 would likely open this morning as the chrysalis was a shade of transparent I’ve come to know fairly well.

The rains were a bit heavier in the morning that we thought they would be, but the afternoon skies cleared and we made the best we could of the time available. Temperatures quickly climbed to a high of 76°F, and what feels to us a sudden change meant our bodies were not yet acclimated to the warmth as we worked outside. I was especially grateful for the time I could work in the shade. Continue reading “Garden Growth–19th May, 2019”
It got quiet around here for a bit. What happened was I had a reaction to something and it took me a while to realize what was going on, and also to seek medical attention once realized. This has not been a fun year, medically, for me. I’ve got toes and fingers crossed this will be the end of a bad stretch. (Don’t think I’ve been this sick this long since college!) When we drove by one of our local stores not long ago to do a large grocery run, I noticed they were having a “customer appreciation sale” with everything marked 25% off. When I walked to the grocery store across the street from there yesterday to pick up a few things I was short on, the street sign then said “50% off”, and a sign in the window said “up to 75%”. That’s when I started to suspect they might be closing.
Sadly, I was right, but it’s a local buyout so it’s not the end of the world, I guess? Continue reading “Short term sale from long term loss.”
And I have been wanting to write about it, but haven’t had the time. Continue reading “Fermented wheat grass is a thing.”
I ended up leaving the seeds on the radiator longer than intended. (This winter bug has really been getting in the way of what I want to do be doing in so many ways.) Continue reading “I may have accidentally fermented the wheat grass.”
