Weekly Site Changes: August 7th-August 13th, 2020

As with so many things in life, even when you’re working on a labor of love, what you wish you could make time for…you often cannot.

The end of July into August was a bit busy.  I did manage some minor updates but never got around to posting the weekly.  Mea Culpa.  The changes were on Critters and 2020 Plantings, so skipping last week’s notes wasn’t a huge loss for record keeping to me. Weekly Site Changes: July 24th-July 30th, 2020

Hoo boys, this year…  Here’s another attempt at getting this rolling forward again.  Hopefully in the coming weeks I’ll be able to get more catch up done than I have in the last month and change.

  • Updated 2020 Plantings Page as needed.
  • Updated Critters Page when time allowed me to input more info.
  • Updated the “What I’m planting” side widget as needed.

Weekly Site Changes: May 22-28, 2020

Another week, another report.  Since I started prepping the next week’s draft once the current week goes up, that really seems to help keep the ball rolling.  *cringes at tempting fate after writing that*

  • Updated 2020 Plantings Page as needed.
  • Also realized I asked folks to add comments or queries on the 2020 Planting Page, but had neglected to turn on comments for that Page.  Fixed that.
  • Updated “what I’m planting soon” widget as things progressed.
  • Added prior unposted Office Window Views for:  May 23, 2018, July 22, 2018, June 1, 2019, June 22, 2019.
  • Found a handful of blank dated templates for daily garden journaling, but only one had anything actually written besides the date, Garden Growth–19th May, 2019.

Weekly Site Changes: May 15-21, 2020

It feels like the clock is ticking, and so soon after the last snow, now we’re hitting 70s° F almost like clockworks, though the nights are still unevenly cool.  Lots of catch up going on the spring clean up front.

  • Added a few more animals to the Critters page.
  • Updated the 2020 Plantings page as needed.
  • Updated the “What I’m planting soon” side widget as needed.
  • Finally finished a post I started earlier this year on Latin name significance.

Weekly Site Changes Update: May 1-7, 2020

Trying to pick back up where I left off, which led me to realize I still have others from earlier this year sitting in drafts.  *eep*

Backdated changes made:

  • Added April 18th, 2020–Office Window View since I wanted to use the image anyway as it was relevant to a post I wrote this week.
  • Reversed the order of the slideshow so the newest image shows first, then works backwards in time.  It’s much shorter than last year because I always drop off the year before’s images per recent update, and I still haven’t caught up posting all the 2019 Office Window Views.

Two years ago today (sort of)…

…I started to tell the story of our garden here in Gardner, and even posted the image above that showed part of the garden’s past we had inherited when buying this land.

In truth, I’m now writing this quite late–on May 11, 2020.  I abused the magic of backdating to get the date at the top right.  As folks reading this know, our whole world was swept up by March 31st with news about a novel coronavirus spreading.  At the time, Massachusetts was just one place struggling with it in spades.  I was spending more time than I like to admit watching the daily videos our local hospital was putting out, scanning news articles, watching broadcast news, and bookmarking more C-19 stat sites than now seems sane in hindsight.  Can you blame me, though?  My partner is “an essential worker”, a postal carrier.  Heck yeah, we had some scares.  But enough with the excuses!  (I will end this topic by saying if he did get it from work and passed it to me, we still don’t know.)
