I fell in love with this book when I first borrowed it from our local library. Yes, it was older and a handful of practices within it had since been improved upon within gardening communities, but more often than not, the lessons and strategies within were still sound. When I realized how many times I was borrowing it, I tracked down a copy and bought it. Continue reading “Remember The 2 Hour Garden book?”

Garden Growth–9th May, 2019
Violas are starting to open flower which is a relief because I’ve been watching early pollinators hunting for food, the dandelions we’re allowing to grow aren’t far behind. Broke just over 60°F again, and no more 30° range drops at night predicted for a while. Continue reading “Garden Growth–9th May, 2019”
Garden Growth–7th May, 2019
Good news was my partner got done very early today, not so good was we had a bit of a race against the rain. All too easy to get snippy then, but fortunately there was very little of that. Broke 70°F today.

More of the same weather wise, but sun is in the near future. Continue reading “Garden Growth–5th May, 2019”
Garden Growth–3rd May, 2019
Long spate of rain sandwiched between misties today. Still warm even as I write this, over 50°F. Continue reading “Garden Growth–3rd May, 2019”
Garden Growth–27th April, 2019

Should be obvious, but should be said: I also got diddly done around the yard. Continue reading “Garden Growth–27th April, 2019”
Bouncing Back
I will write more soon about this, but I’m thrilled to say the transplant gone awry is recovering nicely and wanted to at least post this for now. Continue reading “Bouncing Back”
Garden Growth–15th April, 2019
Got caught in today’s spring shower, which was anything but light though it was warm (at first anyway)! My sweatshirt hanging on a chair by the dining room radiator still isn’t dry, but then again the heat has barely needed to come on today. Another 60°F day. Continue reading “Garden Growth–15th April, 2019”
Unfinished posts and finished plantings
The lack of consistent postings of late is not a sign that we’ve not been putting in at least some time each day towards our garden, it’s that I’ve not managed to eck out the time to finish a handful of posts about what’s been done in that time. Continue reading “Unfinished posts and finished plantings”
